TELEHEALTH

Secure Video Appointment

WHAT IS TELEHEALTH?

Telehealth can have many meanings. At Pace Counseling & Consultation LLC, it means the clinical social worker is in one location, the client is in another location, and the treatment involves the use of technology. We meet using audio and video over the internet. It is virtual therapy! Choosing this method of counseling depends on several factors.

BENEFITS

Telehealth has potential benefits including: easier access to care, the convenience of meeting from a location of your choosing, potential reduced cost, decreased stigma, increased choice, and continuity of care.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

There are also risks to consider. These include interruptions, unauthorized access, and technical difficulties. It can also bring confidentiality challenges on the client side (for example, if someone comes home unexpectedly or you are asked to leave a private space at work). It is NOT a covered benefit on all insurance plans. Call the 1-800 number on the back of your insurance card to speak to a representative about telehealth coverage for mental health.
